The Crofton Athletic Council (CAC) is pleased to announce that it is once again sponsoring the 19th Annual Crofton Shootout Soccer Tournament. The Shootout will be played Saturday August 14th and Sunday August 15th, 2010, and will be held at Bell Branch Park located on Davidsonville Road\Route 424 in Crofton, Maryland. This tournament is sanctioned by the Maryland State Youth Soccer Association (MSYSA) (http://www.msysa.org/).
Age Brackets:
Application for invitations will be accepted for the following boys and girls age groups at both the Travel and Recreational levels:

Register your team for the Age Group in which they will play in the Fall of 2010.
Under MSYSA rules, you have the choice of submitting your Spring 2010 roster or your new roster for the Fall 2010 season. You must register for the age group you will play in in Fall 2010.
Note: The Tournament Committee may combine or eliminate age groups and/or move teams up to the next age group dependent upon the number of applicants. If the need occurs it will be discussed with the affected teams prior to implementing.
Eligibility:

Boys and Girls U9 and U10 play 7x7 with 16’ Goals. Roster max=14, can include up to 5 guest players.

Boys and Girls U11 and U12 play 8x8 with 16’ Goals. Roster max=14 for U11 and U12; can include up to 5 guest players for both U11 and U12

Boys and Girls U13 to U16 play 11x11 with 24’ Goals. Roster max=18, can include up to 5 guest players.
Registration:
$375 per team (U-9 is only $300). Registration Fee must be paid within two weeks of registration (if not paid via credit card on-line). No refunds will be given once registration fee is paid. Since this is an MSYSA sanctioned tournament, Maryland teams not affiliated with MSYSA will be charged an additional $5.50 per player pursuant to MSYSA insurance requirements.
Referee Fees (to be paid by each team on the field prior to each match)

$15.00 per match per team; 7v7,8v8: (1-Ref system, USSF Certified)

$35.00 per match per team; 11v11: (3-Ref system, USSF Certified)
Check In:
There is a mandatory team check-in for all teams at the Bell Branch Park Pavillion (located just past the playground area on the right). All local teams located in Anne Arundel and Prince George’s counties must register on Friday, August 13th, 2010 from 6:00pm - 8:00pm. For travel teams located outside the area, team check in is available on Saturday early morning from 7:30am - 9:00am -Team manager must notify tournament committee if using this option.
Accumulated Yellow Card Policy:
Any player who accumulates two yellow cards during the tournament will sit out the very next game that the team is to play. (MSYSA policy) This policy is in addition to the existing rule that states that a player who receives two yellow cards (resulting in a ’red card’ being given) during any one game will be forced to ’sit out’ the very next game.
Fields:
Field dimensions will be in accordance with FIFA rules and recognized authority regarding short sided play.
Inclement Weather/Refund Policy:
If matches are cancelled or postponed or abbreviated in any manner or for any reason, there is no guaranteed refund, credit or reimbursement. However, the Committee, at its sole discretion, may consider a partial refund depending on the circumstances. The Committee, in conjuction with the club and referee assignor, will determine if matches are cancelled, abbreviated or continued.
Format/Awards:
All teams will play a minimum of three (3) games. Teams will be placed in Divisions within their age group according to their ability. Individual player awards will be presented to the champion and runner-up teams in U10 through U16. U9 players will all receive a participation medal.
Restrictions:
Teams are accepted on a first-come, first serve basis ONCE PAYMENT IS RECEIVED until the maximum of 100 teams is reached. Subsequent teams will be placed on a waiting list.
